A Valentine's Day Meal that says "I love you and your heart ♥"

Salmon is rich in omega-3, a healthy fat linked to reduced risk of heart rhythm disorders and lower blood pressure. Pair it with a whole grain like brown rice and a green vegetable to let your special someone you love them and their heart!
Glazed Salmon
Ingredients
- Salmon fillets, cut into serving size pieces
- ¼ cup honey
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons whole-grain mustard
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar or 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce of your choice (Tabasco, Sriracha, Asian chili-garlic sauce)
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
Directions
- Season salmon fillets with salt and pepper. Set aside.
- In a small sauce pan, combine honey, mustard, hot sauce of your choice, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar (or lime juice), red pepper flakes and a pinch of salt. Stir to combine then simmer on low heat. Do not bring it to a boil.
- Heat olive oil in a oven-proof skillet and fry the salmon skin down until half done. Flip salmon and add minced garlic into the skillet and cook until slightly browned and cooked to the desired wellness.
- Plate the salmon and drizzling the sauce over the salmon. Top with chopped cilantro.
Serve with brown rice and your choice of a green vegetable like asparagus or broccoli.
